Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Foundations Pediatric Therapy?

If you want a team that truly cares about your child and your needs, we’re the pediatric therapists for you. We pull from a depth of evidence and experience to ensure your child is getting highly individualized therapy services catered to exactly what they (and you!) need.

Why are your services out-of-network with insurance?

This enables our therapists to focus on your child & family’s goals as compared to insurance driven goals, which often lack meaning and don't ensure generalization to your everyday lives. Despite asking for services to be paid for as we deliver them, we do file your claims to insurance, follow up on unpaid claims, and send documentation as needed for approval. Once your out-of-network deductible is met, your insurance company will send reimbursements directly to you.

What can my child expect during therapy sessions?

Your child should expect to play!

How long will my child be in therapy?

Our goal isn’t to keep your child in therapy indefinitely but to ensure they and you feel confident in sustaining success.

How frequently will my child need to attend therapy sessions?

The frequency of sessions will be recommended by your evaluating therapist at the end of your child’s evaluation. On average, we see children one to two times per week.

Will my child want to go to their therapy sessions or will this be another battle?

If your child isn’t eager and excited to come to their therapy sessions with us, we’re not doing our job. Our pediatric therapists ensure your child is engaged, motivated, and making gains all in the context of play.

Do parents join sessions?

We want to ensure parents feel confident and equipped in supporting their child’s ongoing needs. Every session we will provide updates and education, be it within or at the end of sessions. We also provide training and coaching during sessions so that you, as a parent, feel confident in supporting your child's needs. Thus, depending on your needs we may ask you to join sessions ongoing, intermittently, or as you deem most appropriate for you and your child.

What if my child’s needs change over time?

We will always have ongoing discussions of shifting our approach as your child's needs progress and change.

Do you offer bilingual services?

Yes, we have therapists who speak Spanish in addition to English.
