Caroline is an Austin, Texas native who grew up in the central Austin area. She earned her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University-Houston Campus. Caroline attended Texas Tech University, earning her Bachelors of Science degree in Clinical Psychology, Human Development Family Studies, and Addictive Research Studies. During her time at Texas Tech, Caroline was a nanny and tutor for 3 children ages 6-12, all with developmental disabilities. Her roles in this job included teaching math and reading, driving them to and from various activities, and assisting with night time routines on a weekly basis.

Prior to Graduate School, Caroline traveled to Australia for 9 months to work as an au pair for a family of 3 children; 1 of whom was diagnosed with Autism. During her time abroad, Caroline had the opportunity to work one-on-one with this child and was able to engage him each day by creating activities to captivate his attention in order to improve his social interaction skills as well as his fine motor skills. Through her experiences of babysitting children of all ages since high-school, Caroline always knew she wanted a career working with children. In her last year as an undergraduate, Caroline was unsure about what she wanted to pursue with her degree until she discovered Occupational Therapy. She quickly realized it aligned perfectly with her vision of what she desired in a career. Caroline has always found meaning and happiness in helping others achieve functionality, participating in valued activities, and supporting others to be as independent as possible.

She completed her Fieldwork Level II Rotation in the Austin Independent School District, working with children of various diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Learning and Developmental Disabilities. Her experience during this rotation furthered her desire to have a career in the pediatric setting. Caroline is passionate about applying the knowledge she gained throughout her experiences babysitting and in Occupational Therapy school in order to create trusting relationships with those she interacts with by helping them be their best selves and go on to lead a complete and meaningful lives.

Apart from work, Caroline enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling, and enjoying time with family and friends.
